|
ANYWHERE YOU NEED...
Control Switching from Audio Signal
Switching from Mic OR Line Signals
Silence Sensing
Precise Threshold Adjustment
DPDT Switching Contacts
Open-Collector "Slave" Output
APPLICATION: Each of the ST-ACR products is an "Audio Controlled Relay" in the group of "STICK-ON" series products by Radio Design Labs. These products are designed for quick, convenient installation, and reliable operation in a variety of control applications.
THREE MODELS TO FIT SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS:
ST-ACR1: This module is designed to switch on LINE-LEVEL sources. Its relatively short "release delay" time makes it the optimum choice for voice applications.

Input may be connected to either balanced or unbalanced sources
Multiturn sensitivity adjustment permits precise threshold setting
Multiturn DELAY control adjusts relay release delay
Bandpass filtering yields triggering on characteristic audio spectrum
"Slave" open-collector terminal allows additional relays to be added for more contacts (Radio Design Labs' ST-LCR1 or ST-LCR2)
"Slave" terminal may be used with remote switch to manually override the control circuit and turn on the relay
All this is available in the unbelievable compactness and convenience of the RDL STICK-ONS. Put them right where you need them, or design them in with our optional racking kits. Anytime you need DPDT contact closures controlled by any audio source, you need the ST-ACR product group.

ST-CX1F Full-Range Filter
|
ANYWHERE YOU NEED...
Active Full-Range Equalization
Low-Frequency Roll off
Adjustable “Smile-Curve”
Very Low Noise and Distortion
STICK-ON Convenience
The ST-CX1F is part of the group of versatile STICK-ON products from Radio Design Labs. STICK-ONs™ feature the advanced circuitry for which RDL® products are known, combined with unequalled versatility in mounting possibilities. The durable adhesives provided with the ST-CX1F permit ‘permanent’ or detachable mounting. Numerous available mounting accessories, brackets and rack-mount chassis’ are optionally available to facilitate any system design.
APPLICATION: The ST-CX1F is intended to be operated as a line-level (+4 dBu) equalizer feeding an audio power amplifier. It is designed for use with full-range speaker systems which do not contain a woofer (below 100 Hz). The passband of the ST-CX1F is 100 Hz to 30 kHz, with an equalization adjustment centered at 2 kHz. Through the application of a ‘smile-curve’ providing up to 8 dB attenuation through midband audio frequencies, the performance of the whole system may be significantly enhanced. For full-range systems also incorporating a woofer and/or subwoofer, RDL produces companion filter modules.
The ST-CX1F features a balanced bridging input which may be wired balanced or unbalanced. The balanced bridging terminals are ‘looped out’ for connection into RDL’s ST-CX1W Woofer Crossover and/or ST-CX1S Subwoofer Crossover.
The output driver is 150 ohm balanced which can drive low or high impedance balanced or unbalanced lines. The module operates nominally at unity gain when the equalization control is set flat. A smooth mid-band attenuation curve is set using the 25-turn trimming potentiometer.
The ST-CX1F features excellent frequency response, accurate active state-of-the-art filtering, and the exceptional low-noise performance for which RDL products are known.
Wherever high quality, active equalization is needed to tailor the sound in a full-range system, the ST-CX1F is the ideal choice. Use the ST-CX1F individually, or combine it with other RDL Rack-Up® or STICK-ON products as part of a complete audio/video system.

ST-CX1S Subwoofer Filter
|
ANYWHERE YOU NEED...
An Active Subwoofer Equalization
A Subwoofer Signal from Stereo Source
Adjustable Low-Frequency Boost
A Very low Noise & Distortion Crossover
STICK-ON Convenience
Application: The ST-CX1S is a subwoofer signal equalizer in the STICK-ON series of products from Radio Design Labs. The ST-CX1S offers flexibility in equalization adjustment, with the exceptional performance RDL products are known for.
The ST-CX1S features two separate, isolated balanced bridging inputs which may each be wired balanced or unbalanced. The output driver is 150 ohm balanced which can drive low or high impedance balanced or unbalanced lines. The module operates at unity gain at 63 Hz (balanced input to balanced output). A "BOOST" control permits adjustment of the output at 32 Hz from "flat" to +5.5 dB. this control is factory set to match the JBL Model 4645B THX approved subwoofer. ST-GCA1 & ST-GCA2 Audio Gain Control Amplifiers
|
ANYWHERE YOU NEED...
Automatic Gain Control
Wide Dynamic Range
Slow or Fast Gain Adjustment
Low Noise and Distortion AGC
The ST-GCA1 & ST-GCA2 Gain Control Amplifiers are part of the group of "STICK-ON" products from Radio Design Labs. The ST-GCA series products are unique, high-performance electronic modules offering constant automatic gain control for audio lines.
Both constantly adjust for changes in input levels, bringing up low levels, and reducing gain for high levels. The ST-GCA1 is the ideal choice anywhere potentially varying audio levels need to be maintained at a constant level. The constant, slow "gain-riding" maintains the desired average operating levels without introducing any audible compression artifacts. Circuitry is gated to mute the output when no input signal is present. The fast action of the ST-GCA2 makes it ideal for use in systems prone to loud bursts of audio.
Functional Description: A wide range of "line level" signals may be connected to its input. The ST-GCA products then adjust the gain to deliver a uniform output level at all times. The audio level is constantly adjusted to maintain the correct output. This normally slow AGC action is supplemented by a circuit which detects the amount of peak material present and speeds up the AGC correspondingly. The ST-GCA1 helps maintain good overall adjustment without impacting the overall dynamics of the program material. Fast, tight control of audio levels is provided by the ST-GCA2. When audio is not present on the input, AGC "searching" is limited to about 5 seconds. During a sustained period without audio input, the ST-GCA outputs fade to a muted condition. When audio is next applied, the output "instantly" ramps up to the correct level.
Applications: There is almost no limit to the possible places the ST-GCA1 & ST-GCA2 can improve audio systems! Anywhere you have levels varying for any reason, putting the ST-GCA series products in the line solves the problem. Some examples where levels are not consistent, but often need to be:
Production Studio outputs feeding recording machines
Mic mixer output where people speak at inconsistent levels
 Audio feeds from telephone systems
Line level feeds in an audio system which can have user controls which can be set either too low or high
Pre-conditioning levels into an audio limiter
 Paging, intercom, and interconnect systems
Making audio levels uniform and consistent improves the performance of nearly any type of audio system... ...in broadcast, paging, or sound reinforcement. With its unique combination of features, exceptional audio performance, and convenient installation, the ST-GCA1 and ST-GCA2 provide the solution!
